Magellan Desktop

Features

Magellan Desktop v6 is an advanced stand-alone, document-conversion tool that allows for dynamic content formation. Magellan 6.0 converts any printable Windows document to HTML4 including DOC, XLS, PPT, TXT, BMP, JPG, TIFF, CHM, and PDF with the highest possible accuracy.

The original layout of the document is always preserved while transforming it into HTML. With Magellan Desktop, publishers can now create seamless workflows for web publishing regardless of the authoring tools used to create the original document. They only need to author once, then publish in print and the web simultaneously.

Magellan Desktop installs as a printer driver enabling the user to ÒprintÓ to HTML4 from any application. To convert PDF files to HTML4, it is recommended that the user right-click the PDF icon from Windows Explorer and select print to HTML rather than using the print function within a PDF-viewing application such as Adobe Acrobat.

One of the major advantages of Magellan Desktop is that the user does not need Acrobat or any other software to make use of Magellan Desktop — it works right out of the box!
