PuzzleMaster Lite has been designed to style and compile newspaper-type crosswords that require either a matrix or table solution. The primary concept behind PuzzleMaster Lite is to give total control to the user laying up the page or area of the page dedicated to the crossword.
By allowing the user to pre-create crossword layouts and to save them in a QuarkXPress crossword layout document or library, the user can, on the day of publication, simply copy one of the pre-prepared layouts and drop it on to the page. The user could then select a database of words and clues most applicable to their readership, click to compile a solution, and click to automatically clue it, thus producing a crossword minutes before going to press.The PuzzleMaster solution-compilation engine also allows the user to freely edit the solution by simply selecting an alternative solution word, or even to enter a new solution word not currently in the database. These new words will then be automatically entered into the selected database for reuse in future crosswords. Additionally, the user can manually select clues for solution words and/or use the new clue wizard to create new anagram or cryptic clues. These also will be added to the selected solution word/clue database for future use.
