SpellBound augments QuarkXPress' spell-check features while checking the spelling of a single word, an active story, an entire document, or the text on master pages. SpellBound can access up to five auxiliary dictionaries and provides an exception dictionary (this is useful for implementing house styles to ensure words are always spelled in a certain manner).Features:• detects capitalization errors (e.g., will flag proper nouns not capitalized);• uses a comprehensive, phonetically based algorithm when looking for alternative spellings to words;• has a more precise definition of word boundaries (spell check words such as Ph.D. and QuarkXPress);• enables the use as a guesser (interactively type in a guess and do a look up);• highlight portions of compound words and get spelling suggestions on the constituent words;• distinguishes between words with the same spelling but different capitalization;• when replacing a misspelled word, optionally choose only to replace words with the same capitalization as the present word or all occurrences;• allows for the choice of casting capitalization of the replacement word to that of the original;• enables the user to edit any of the open auxiliary or exception dictionaries while doing a spell check;• enables the user to enter non-alphabetic characters into the auxiliary or exception dictionaries (if nonstandard characters are entered into an English auxiliary dictionary, then this dictionary cannot be used with the internal QuarkXPress spell checker); and• will spell check words that contain fi or fl ligatures.Hyphenation XTensions modules and spelling XTensions modules are language specific and require QuarkXPress Passport or the QuarkXPress language for which you are purchasing.
